A while back Kevin, a group facilitator, HEARD that One Mission (a mission CCV supports in Rocky Point, Mexico) was in need of a vehicle and thought it would be awesome if he could find some way to meet their need through donations or a gift. He had been down to Rocky Point as part of a house building trip for a family and even keeps in touch with that family personally to this day!
He didn't give the car thought the attention it deserved and it slipped off his plate quickly. A couple of months later he SAW a minivan for sale and it immediately struck him that this might be a good vehicle for One Mission. Through a series of communications, he was able to contact One Mission and get a feel for their need and with the help of three of four other families in the neighborhood, they were able to track down the right car and help offset the cost for One Mission to have a new vehicle.
This is a great example of someone having their EYES and EARS open to recognizing needs around him, getting involved, being bold, and meeting the need. His ears were open to hear of the need, knew he could do something about it, then had his eyes open for a possible solution. It’s not difficult, he just had to be willing to respond with boldness when he saw something that needed done. Great job!
